Boswellia sacra
Exotic tree with xerophytic appearance, gray-green leaves and fragrant white flowers. Produces incense resin valued since ancient times.
Boswellia sacra requires full sun exposure (at least 6 hours daily) and a very well-drained substrate, preferably calcareous or sandy, as it is a xerophytic species that does not tolerate excess moisture at the roots. Water very sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter. Although it withstands temperatures down to -5 °C, it is advisable to protect it from excessive rainfall and prolonged frost. It is strictly an outdoor tree and requires advanced experience in growing Mediterranean and xerophytic plants.
