Burdock (Arctium lappa) is a robust biennial plant that requires an outdoor location with direct sunlight, at least 4-8 hours per day. Water moderately, keeping the substrate slightly moist but well-drained, as it does not tolerate waterlogging. It is very hardy and withstands frost down to -20 °C, so no winter protection is needed. Plant it in spring in a spacious spot, as it can reach between 80 and 200 cm in height, and it thrives in deep, loose soil that allows its medicinal root to develop properly.
