Lemon Verbena Tree

Aloysia citrodora

Description

Elegant shrub with highly aromatic leaves with lemon aroma. Ideal for tea and cooking, with small white flowers.

Growing tips

Lemon verbena requires full sun exposure, with a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight per day, and moderate watering, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings. Plant it in a well-draining substrate to prevent waterlogging, as it tolerates moderate drought but not excess moisture. It is hardy down to -10 °C, but in areas with intense frost it is advisable to protect the roots with mulch or move the plant indoors during the coldest spells. In spring, a light pruning will encourage more compact growth and abundant aromatic foliage.
