Plant the bulbs in autumn in a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight and well-drained soil, as it does not tolerate excess moisture. Watering should be sparse, especially in summer when the plant goes dormant; winter and spring rainfall is usually sufficient in Mediterranean climates. It is very hardy and withstands frosts down to -15 °C, so no special outdoor protection is needed. Caution: this plant is toxic, so handle it with gloves and keep it out of reach of children and animals.
