Montpelier Maple

Acer monspessulanum

Description

Medium-sized maple with trilobate leaves and compact habit, perfect for Mediterranean gardens. Frost-resistant and drought-tolerant.

Growing tips

The Montpellier Maple needs an outdoor location with direct sunlight, ideally between 6 and 10 hours per day, as it is not suitable for indoor cultivation. Water with moderate frequency during the growing season, reducing irrigation in winter, since it tolerates drought well. It is very hardy and withstands temperatures down to -15 °C, so no winter protection is needed. Plant it preferably in spring or autumn in well-drained soil, and it requires little maintenance thanks to its easy-care nature.
